Some progress on "Frog Pile" --- it's slow, very slow. And I don't like stitching during tornado watches... rifestitch wrote on May 27, '11 LOVE this!! Can't wait to see more of this :)

I think I'll cal it "May Greening Up" because this May is when all the trees leafed out practically overnight.. rifestitch wrote on May 24, '11Ewww, that's cool!!! Great shades of green (my 2nd favorite color :) )!
A new start... It's called "Frog Pile", it's another Design Works, Inc kit (but this time, designer is Royce B. McClure), and like all Design works Inc kits, it's driving me nuts with a) the symbols used - like four solid-colored triangles, for four thread colors, and b) the fact that the colors provided don't resemble the cover photo in the least! Given that I purchased this one because of the color, that could become a major disappointment...
It's intended as a future gift for a frog-loving friend... Progress on both the May 2011 BJP *and* the entire 2010 series. The beads and fabric are sorted for the May 2011 piece and a design is in my head; the 2010 pieces are all "finished" now and only require some trim and final assembly. And I took some quilting UFOs to the quilt guild work session last Friday, got some encouragement, and may even begin cutting for a new quilt this month! "May" being the operative word! Two completions this week --- one early yesterday and one in the wee small hours of this morning. FIrst, "Cat Pack" by Marilyn Robertson, kit from Design Works. Got the colors mixed up in the two large cats (the major color in the one on the left should be darker, the the major color in the one on the right should be lighter) but I think it worked anyway. Only ran out of one thread but that was black so no worries! The second was installment two in Janet Perry's 2011 Bargello CLub. She called it "Blue Mitten" but since I was shopping my stash and I have six bins of needlepoint wools left over from years ago (!!!), I went with green instead... So, off to quilt guild work day today --- dug out my finished tops (turned out I had six, not 2 --- my memory is that bad), the quilt top I was working on when we were moved home, and the fabric I would LIKE to use to make some lap quilts with for the bedroom. Thought I'd get some assistance, if possible. And in case that is a flop, I tucked in the last five of my 2010 BJP pieces to finish the seams on... Not going to lug my sewing machine in this weather (hot and muggy) so hand sewing will be the order of the day if I do any sewing at all.
Sorry this is so late --- no internet service since Wednesday!
Anyway, I've been stitching on "Cat Pack", another Marylin Robertson, Design Works, Inc kit. Four of the five cats have work done on them so far... but the colors are off (I think I mis-sorted threads!) Another UFO bites the dust! rifestitch wrote on May 2, '11 WooHoo!!! Congrats on a wonderful finish!!! Amazing detail in those panels! Well done!
